Overview

Whether your organization accepts a single type of Identification Document or several, it's important to create a template for each of them to prevent mistakes and to ensure that the ID numbers entered are valid.

Create a new Identification Document template

To create a new template, go to Administration > General Settings > ID Document Templates > Add a New template.

You will then need to fill in several fields:

  • ID Type is the kind of document template you're creating, such as passport, driver's licence or ID card, for instance.
  • Issuing Authority is the document's issuing authority
  • ID Document Template is where you define the ID's format. Use @ to indicate where and how many letters are used in that type of ID. For numbers, you should use #.
So for instance if you define a template as ###-@@, means that when filling the information for a client, the ID will have to follow this format, such as 123-AB, 876-FG, for instance.

When all the above information is filled, check the box if you want the ID to be mandatory for all clients > Save Changes.
