Users

A user is anyone who works with Mambu, no matter what set of permissions they're given.

Only people with a user profile can login and use Mambu.

The number of users that you can add will depend on the edition of Mambu you're using. For the Community edition, you can add up to 3 users. For the Professional and Enterprise editions there is no limit for the number of users that can be added to Mambu.

Titles and types of users

These are identifiers that will be stored in the user profile so that it's easy to see what role they play in your organization.
It may be useful to know, for example, that a staff member (type of user) is a supervisor (title) or that a donor (type) is an NGO (title).

Also, for privacy and security reasons, users can have different sets of permissions which will then determine what they can do and access in Mambu.

You can have users who can see and do anything in the system and others who can only access Mambu to see reports or other data, but who are not allowed to perform any actions in the system.

An example of such user would be a donor with whom you'd want to share information about your organization through Mambu.

Create a credit officer

A credit officer is a special type of user who can have clients associated to them in the system. To create a new credit officer, you just need to start creating a new user > choose the option Credit Officer in the dropdown menu > enter all the other details > click on Save User.

After creating the new credit officer, and as for all the other users, you should set their permissions before giving them access to Mambu, to make sure they will have the level of access they need to work in the system.

Username and password

This is the information the new user will need to login to Mambu. Usernames are short identifiers that can be an abbreviation of the user's name.
Mambu will give you a warning message in case the username you're creating already exists in the system so that each username remains unique.

To define the access details for the new user type the username you choose > create a password > retype the password to confirm it.

After saving the new user's profile, the username can't be changed unless you create a new account for this user.

As you start typing, the system will show you how safe the password is through the use of colors, being red the weakest and green the strongest.

Administrator permissions

Administrator is the role that has more permissions associated to it in Mambu. A user with the Administrator role can access everything and perform any kind of actions in Mambu, so you should check this box only if the user you're creating is meant to have this kind of permissions.

Assign user to branch

The new user can be associated to a specific branch. When you assign a user to a branch, you will also be able to determine if the user should be able to see other branches information, or access only the information of the branch they're associated to.

To assign the new user to a branch, choose the branch from the list.

After you select a branch, you'll see a checkbox next to the option Can View Other Branches. The box is checked by default, so if you don't want the user to access other branches data, click on the box to uncheck it.

Transactions Limits

For any user who doesn't have Administrator permssions, you can set maximum amounts of transactions they would then be allowed to operate.

There are six different types of transactions that can have a limit - Loan Approval, Loan Disbursement, Fee Application, Entry of Deposits, Withdrawals and Repayments.

To set a limit on transactions a user can deal with, click on Add Limit > choose the transaction from the dropdown menu > enter the limit amount for that transaction > add more transaction limits or proceed.
